Cleveland Man Tries to Sell Drugs on Craigslist
Have you ever experimented with drugs? Have you done illegal drugs like meth, cocaine, heroin, marijuana, PCP, Molly, or ecstasy? Or have you abused prescription medication (usually prescription painkillers like OxyContin, Percocet, or Vicodin)? How much do you know about the trade in drugs in the United States? Drug addiction can make people do things that they normally never would. And it can lead to long-term health consequences that can even be life-threatening (not to mention the risk of overdose, or negative drug interactions!). And drug dealers end up trying all kinds of tactics to get their product out to customers. For instance, in Cleveland, Ohio, recently, a 19-year-old drug dealer was arrested after trying to deal crack cocaine on the online bulletin board Craigslist.
An undercover officer responded to the 19-year-old's ad, posing as a customer who wanted to buy crack cocaine. The Craigslist ad had caught detectives' eyes at the Cleveland Police Department, they said. The drug dealer showed up to the deal with some crack cocaine wrapped in a dollar bill, a bag of marijuana, and some crack cocaine wrapped in plastic. After his arrest, he's been charged with one count of felony drug trafficking, and could be facing significant jail time.
Have you ever bought drugs from a disreputable source? How far are you willing to go to buy your drugs? Do you wish that you could get help to stop using drugs?
