Drug Addiction: Patient Deals Drugs from Hospital Bed
What can I do if I'm addicted to drugs? If you're struggling with drug addiction, you're not alone. Drug addiction is a disease that affects millions of Americans. And it can cause them to do some pretty strange things, including outrageous things that they normally wouldn't do. Someone who's addicted to drugs might end up dealing drugs-not necessarily becoming a full-blown drug dealer, but definitely someone who sells drugs. This is especially easy in the case of prescription pills. But in a surprising twist of events, a woman was recently caught dealing drugs from her own hospital room.
Intensive Care Patient Deals Drugs from Hospital Bed
The patient was in the hospital for unrelated medical reasons, in intensive care. “What they noticed last week was an exorbitant amount of foot traffic happening to a patient’s room. Not patients coming to stay two hours, but patients coming to stay two minutes. They thought that was really odd so they contacted security at Excela Westmoreland Hospital,” said the hospital's Vice President of Marketing, Jennifer Miele. “The confidential informant was able to purchase approximately 30 bags of heroin from her. In a subsequent search of her person and her room, they were able to confiscate 380 bags of heroin, approximately $3,800 street value,” said Greensburg Police Capt. Chad Zucco. Officers are also still unsure as to how the woman got heroin into her room. Click here to learn more about the dangers of heroin.
