Drinking and Driving in the Border Patrol?

Drinking and Driving in the Border Patrol?

Do you ever have problems with controlling your drinking? Does it ever get you into trouble? Do you ever with that you could stop? Do you think about what your drinking might do to you, what consequences it might have for your family/relationships or career? Many people have trouble controlling their drinking. Lots of people drink too much, or more than they intended, or at times that they didn't plan. But if it keeps happening, that could be a warning sign. Now, the United States Border Patrol is having to confront questions about alcoholism within its ranks after a memo was leaked in which the agency's head expressed grave concern about the drinking of its officers.

“The Border Patrol is averaging almost two alcohol-related arrests per week,” wrote the head of the Border Patrol. “This continued level and rate of alcohol-related arrests within our agency is alarming and detrimental to the overall well-being of our workforce.” Anonymous sources have confirmed that there are systemic problems within the agency, including officers who carry automatic weapons while drunk, and officers showing up to work while intoxicated. And though they might not be alcoholics, all these things are warning signs for alcohol abuse.

Do you wish you could control your drinking better? Do you want a better life for yourself, without liquor ruining it? Do you wish that you could take control of your life again? Alcoholism impacts peoples' lives in terrible ways. But the good news is that you don't have to let it control you.
