Child Finds Drugs at Chuck E Cheese

A child playing on the carousel at Chuck E Cheese on Sunday discovered a small bag containing a powdered white substance thought to be an illegal drug of some kind. The four year old girl got off the ride with the substance in her hands, and her mother immediately reported the incident to management. The manager on duty at Chuck E Cheese allegedly refused to call the authorities to report the incident and instead asked the woman to dispose of the bag.

Outraged by the possible presence of dangerous substances in a child’s play area and the company’s unwillingness to report the incident, the woman called a local news station in the St. Louis suburb of Fairview Heights, Illinois on the border of Minneapolis. A police report has since been filed and officials noted that it was not confirmed whether the substance was an illegal drug since the bag was thrown out. A spokesperson for Chuck E Cheese released a statement which expressed concern for the safety of children but did not indicate any action planned in this particular case.

If you are involved in the use or distribution of controlled substances or other dangerous drugs, consider the effect of your decisions on children who may not realize the materials they encounter. Children tend to ingest unknown substances so it’s important to consider the potentially devastating consequences of your involvement in drugs.
