President & CEO
Founder and CEO Peter Schorr created Retreat at Lancaster County as the
premier drug and alcohol rehabilitation treatment center on the East Coast.
With over 30 years as both a clinician and the manager of health care
facilities, Peter developed innovative programs to treat those suffering
from the disease of addiction. His vision was to create a rehab treatment
center in a peaceful and serene setting for patients to heal, learn and
prepare for lifelong sobriety.
Kenneth Kosza, MA
Chief Operating Officer
Ken Kosza is the Chief Operations Officer of Retreat. Ken earned a Master’s
Degree in Clinical-Counseling Psychology. He began his career as an addictions
counselor at an inpatient substance abuse treatment center. Ken then moved
into the world of outpatient substance abuse as an addictions counselor
for a multi-site outpatient center. Within two years Ken became Executive
Director and Vice President of all 30 locations. Ken is currently a board
member of the Drug and Alcohol Services Providers of Pennsylvania (“DASPOP”).
Ken currently resides in Florida with his wife, Andrea, and their five
children. He enjoys watching sports of any kind, but has a particular
love for amateur wrestling.
Chrissy Gariano, MA
Chief Clinical Officer
Chrissy Gariano serves as Retreat’s Chief Clinical Officer. She oversees
licensing and accreditation as well as clinical programming for all of
Retreat’s facilities. Chrissy holds her Master’s Degree in
Psychology from Immaculata University. Chrissy’s career spans over
15 years in substance abuse treatment. She began as an intern at an inpatient
substance abuse facility and was promoted to Executive Director of that
facility in 2008. Chrissy has been with Retreat since its inception in
2011, as Executive Director.
She was born in Malvern, PA and now lives in Ephrata. She loves animals,
the beach, swimming and a good book.
Thomas Garofola, MHS, LCADC
Chief Marketing Officer
Tom Garofola is Retreat’s Chief Marketing Officer. Tom has been with
Retreat since its planning stages. Tom holds a Master’s Degree in
Human Services (MHS) and is a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor
(LCADC). He began his career as an addictions counselor. In 2001, he was
asked to head up the planning efforts for the Criminal and Juvenile Justice
Subcommittee of New Jersey Governor’s Council on Alcohol & Drug
Abuse (GCADA). Currently, Tom serves as the President for the New Jersey
Chapter of Employee Assistance Professionals Association (NJEAPA).
In his private time, Tom volunteers as the leader of a family support group
and serves as the assistant director of a youth basketball league. Tom
lives in Hamilton, NJ, with his wife, children, and 2 dogs.
Deja Gilbert, PhD
Chief Business Officer
Dr. Deja Gilbert joined the Retreat Team in early 2013 as Executive Director
for Retreat at Palm Beach. Dr. Gilbert obtained her PhD from Capella University
and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She began her journey
in the addictions industry as a primary substance abuse counselor working
with adolescents and their families. She then moved on to become the Executive
Director of a Florida facility working with outpatient and intensive outpatient
behavioral healthcare programs. From there she went on to become Vice
President overseeing multiple sites while managing and directing the organization
in accordance with its mission. Most recently she has become the Chief
Business Officer for Retreat at Palm Beach. Dr. Gilbert lives in Palm
Beach County, FL with her family.
Corporate Administrative Director
Scott Korogodsky serves as Retreat’s Corporate Administrative Director.
He provides oversight and leadership to the financial and systems operations
at the Retreat facilities. With a background in management of finance,
production and manufacturing of consumer goods, he made the transition
to operations management in Behavioral Health almost a decade ago. Scott
has been a member of the Retreat Team since the initial concept in the
role of Director of Operations.
A native of Chicago, Scott enjoys spending time with his family, riding
his Harley and “strumming” his Martin guitars.
Kevin Walker, MS
Retreat at Lancaster County
As the Executive Director for Retreat at Lancaster County, Kevin Walker
brings over 17 years of experience in behavioral health. He began his
career managing a group home for dependent youth in Vermont. He then transitioned
into Child Welfare.
In 2009, he supervised a team of social workers for a family based center
in Philadelphia. In 2013, he became the Vice President of a 28-site outpatient
mental health and substance abuse treatment center, after serving for
three years as Executive Director of the mental health division. An avid
fly fisherman, he currently lives in Lititz with his wife and three children.
Joseph Troncale, MD
Retreat At Lancaster County
Joseph Troncale, MD is Retreat’s Medical Director. Over the past
35 years, Dr. Troncale has established himself as one of the premier physicians
working in the field of addiction. He is both a fellow and a member of
the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and was named Outstanding
Addiction Magazine in 2010. A published author, Dr. Troncale has contributed content to both
Saunders Manual of Medical Practice & When to Call the Surgeon as
well as numerous articles in addiction journals.
After graduating from the University of Alabama in 1974 he went on to complete
his residency at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in
1979. Since then he has taken on various roles within the medical field
focusing primarily on addiction medicine. In the past, he has served as
the Medical Director of two other prominent inpatient facilities.
He lives in New Holland, PA with his wife of 38 years, Lisa, who is a social
worker in the field of post-adoption services
